- SVPPGIP is the State Newborn Care Resource Centre for training of doctors and paramedical of the State over neonatal & pediatric training programmes of Govt.
- DEIC & NRC at SVPPGIP are fully functional center used for the training by the State and caters multifarious services to patients
- 135 research publications in indexed journals

Facilities Available Including Investigation :
- Pediatric & Neonatal Critical Care Services.
- Pediatric Nephrology and Pediatric Hypertension Clinic (first of its kind in Odisha).
- Pediatric super specialty service are being offered in nephrology, neonatology, pediatric surgery.
- ROP screening and laser surgery is being done by the Ophthalmology faculties in collaboration with L.V. Prasad Eye Institute, Bhubaneswar.
- Congenital Heart Disease screening and surgery is being done through RBSK scheme in DEIC.
- Hearing screening and hearing aid distribution, clubfoot management is being done through DEIC.
Extraordinary Recognition Of Faculty (National / International ) :
- Awarded IPNA international fellowship for training in “Advanced Pediatric Nephrology “at McGill Health University, in Canada.
- Awarded FRCPCH in Pediatric Renal Transplant ” by Royal College of Pediatric and Child Health, UK.
Celebrations and Workshops:
CPR Week celebration
We celebrated “National CPR week” from 17-22 July, 2023. On this occasion a Mass Awareness Programme was conducted on 20 th July among security personelles and ward attendants of SVPPGIP(Sisubhawan). Hands on training on CPR in adults and infants was given to them with training on management of chocking. For this programme we had 4 faculties from our department. There were 36 participants including 30 security guards and 6 ward attendants. On 21 st and 22 nd July we conducted an IAP-Advanced Life Support Course for Post Graduates. We had 30 participants from different medical colleges of Odisha. There were 4 faculties from our institution and 4 invited faculties from other institutes. It was a two day programme with lectures and work stations.
Workshop on Basic Mechanical Ventilation in children
We conducted a workshop on Basic Mechanical Ventilation in Children on 27th August 2023 in association with IAP intensive care chapter, Odisha division. Total 52 delegates, mainly Pediatric PG residents from different medical colleges of Odisha along with Pediatricians from district headquarter hospitals and pediatric surgeons attended the workshop. We had 7 faculties from our department along with 10 invited faculties from other medical colleges. It was a full day programme with lectures and work stations.
